Photographing Strangers

I have always wanted to take a photo of random people walking down the street. Then I saw a video online about photographers taking photo of strangers. It looked like fun and a little challenging. Maybe I would do it when I get a new camera but for now, random meet-ups would do I guess.

Okay so, yesterday, I met two pretty amazing people from reddit to meet up to walk around Manhattan to take photos. I guess we had different things in mind. I thought we were going for a mini shoot but they just literally meant walk-around. It was fun and we somehow found things we had in common.

I felt like I was really gaining confidence with shooting portraits but somehow my gear is holding me back. I know it's not about the gear but trust me, this time, I could say that it is the gear and of course, composition too! But I don't want to get into details on that matter.

It felt like I actually knew what I was doing when it comes to angles, or composition. I mean better than how I was when I first started. I know I haven't come a long way but I still on it. Watching videos on line, and taking notes while post-processing previous photos, I think it has somehow made me not a lot but even just a bit better. I know where to place the models, but still can't pose models. I still need to practice on that.

The real challenge during this shoot was that we're total strangers. We don't know each other. We just met on a random post to meet-up online so we did. It was a little bit hard since I was already gaining confidence, but I still didn't know how to pose models that much. Also, they weren't models so, there you go. The equation's complete.

As we were walking around, we were slowly getting to know each other and somehow made the slightest connection with each other. We all both share the same zodiac sign (if that matters), and they both have the same birthday. What a coincidence!

Anyway, here are some of the photos I took. Feel free to criticize.
